System of Record

Complete Aries Suite

The impound lot is just one stage of a longer vehicle lifecycle.

The Aries suite connects each towing stage so a vehicle's record follows it from the roadside to the impound lot —
and your team isn't re-keying the same data into disconnected systems.

Runs Exclusively On

AWS GovCloud (US)

Government-grade infrastructure, built for how agencies buy.

Aries runs exclusively on AWS GovCloud (US), the cloud infrastructure built to meet the compliance requirements of U.S. government agencies. Because so many infrastructure-level security validations are already handled through AWS authorizations, agencies can move through procurement faster and carry less of the compliance burden themselves. Aries Impound is also available through AWS Marketplace, which can further simplify purchasing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions. Quick answers.

What is Aries Impound?

Aries Impound by Autura is the impound management system built for government agencies. It captures and organizes vehicle data, solves storage lookup, and runs the full workflow through holds, liens, notifications, fees, and payments in one system. It's built for agencies managing police-impounded and city-lot vehicles.

We already use Aries Dispatch. How does Impound connect?

The two are built to work together. When a vehicle comes off an Aries Dispatch tow, it arrives at the lot with its record already started — no re-typing required. The system already has the record, and the handoff from tow provider to city lot happens digitally, not on paper. Each product can be purchased individually, but together they manage the full vehicle lifecycle in a single, centralized system.

What is Impound Express?

Impound Express is the mobile companion to Aries Impound. Lot operators check in arrivals, scan VIN barcodes, pull up records with a QR or barcode scan, and capture timestamped condition photos from a phone or tablet, the moment a vehicle rolls in. Data lands in your impound system in real time — no re-keying details at a terminal later. Impound Express is available on iOS and Android, and included with Aries Impound for no additional purchase.

What happens to vehicles that go unclaimed?

When a vehicle goes unclaimed and clears the lien process, Aries Impound moves it natively into Autura Marketplace, the country's largest unclaimed vehicle auction platform. There's no separate listing tool or re-entering data. The vehicle you already have a full record on is shared to a network of more than 20,000 verified bidders, with no seller fees. This is how agencies reclaim lot space and recover cost.

We've always run our lot with paper and spreadsheets. Is switching worth it?

Paper intake, manual fee math, and storage lookups by phone call cost staff time, create billing disputes, and let lien deadlines and unclaimed-vehicle revenue slip. Aries Impound replaces that with one system. Intake happens at the vehicle, records are searchable in seconds, and fees and liens run automatically. Our team will walk through your actual workflow in a demo so you can see the difference against how your lot runs today.

Does Aries Impound integrate with our CAD and records systems?

Yes. When a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) integration is in place, tow requests generate automatically and the vehicle's data flows into Aries Impound for fast check-in, with no manual re-entry. Aries also connects with agency Records Management Systems (RMS), court and citation systems, and state DMV lookups where applicable.

Can we purchase Aries Impound without the rest of the Aries products?

Yes. Aries Dispatch, Aries Impound, and Aries Private Property Impound can each be purchased separately. You buy what solves your problem today. Agencies that run the entire Aries suite see the most value because data flows between each step automatically, but nothing requires you to start with more than one piece of this technology suite.

How do citizens pay for their vehicles?

TowPay is built directly into Aries Impound. Send a secure payment request by text or email, and the citizen pays by credit or debit card on their own device. The payment applies to the vehicle's account in real time with a full audit trail, so there's no separate payment system and no manual reconciliation. Every transaction is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant.

How does Aries Impound help us stay compliant?

Regulated fees, invoicing, and hold steps run on system rules, so records stay accurate without manual math. Lien deadlines are tracked automatically, lien letters generate and send on schedule, and every vehicle carries a complete audit trail on fees, holds, and payments. Auto-calculated invoices and system-generated reports are built to hold up to audit.
